Top Row
Photo #1 -Third rudder horn.  Just didn't like the way the second one worked, so re-made it again.  Tailwheel springs are now taught and I have 25 degrees of deflection on each side of the rudder, plus it is lighter and stronger.
Photo #2,3 -Finished the first part of the boot cowl.  Still have to fabricate the bottom piece, then firmly attach all of it.  Photo #3 shows how it tucks under the front windscreen.
Photo #4 -This shows how I accomplished the fuel flow check.  You are supposed to have 150% of needed fuel (at full throttle) available at the carb, during a steep climb.  I had calculated that I needed to be able to drain a gallon of gas in a little over 5 minutes to accomplish this objective.  I set the tail wheel in the ditch, then pulled the fuselage on top of my car ramps.  Momma drove the van and I guided it up.  It drained a gallon in 2.5 minutes so that is out of the way.  Everything that needed done, is now done, so it's time to cover and finish it up.  Total time at this point is 2950 hours. Date: 3/29/05.
Photo #5 -This was sunrise, the day of picture #4. You have to take time to smell the Daisy's.

Bottom Row
Photo #1 -It's May 9, 2005 and the fuselage is finally ready for paint.  I currently have about 3100 hours in the project.
Photo #2 -The Landing Gear is now covered & ready for paint.
Photo #3,4,5 -The wheel pants needed a 1/8" aluminum plate to attach to.  In order to center the wheel within the pant, I needed a one inch stand off on the inside of the pant. I Decided to use one inch "U" channel rivited to the plate, with blind nuts on the pant side. In addition I needed some way to attach the outer portion of the wheel pant. Photo's tell the story.  T.L. Hillis made the outer stand off that slips inside the axle and is retained by the axle nut cotter pin.
