Photo #1 -My precision wing tip jig. Decided to make the tip separate from the wing so that it would be flat and true when glued to the wing. Doesn't look pretty right now but it is straight and square. Not complete yet. Photo #2 - This shows the completed wing tip being slipped in place for gluing between the spars. Photo #3 -Tip is on--clamped and gluing. Photo #4 & 5 -I used two methods to make sure my wash out was exact at the tip. I wanted a degree and a half even though it probably isn't necessary with a rectangular wing. First I used Model CAD to determine how much each rear spar would be raised from the table. I wanted the main front spar to be flat on the table. This showed I needed the tip to be raised by 5/8" so I made two blocks with the one for the tip rib being 5/8" taller than the root rib. Then I checked this with my Robart Incidence meter that I always used on my models. Cost is about $20. The tip is exactly 1 1/2 degree up on the trailing edge from the root trailing edge. Soooo it was time to apply the epoxy. Bottom Row
