Ice Hockey for Amateurs by Joe Nix

Great quote, pg 153 Frank Boucher with Trent Payne's 1973 book "When the Rangers were Young"

"I believed then, and I'm convinced now, that hockey is the greatest game on earth. I mean this. No other sport demands that so many unnatural skills be mastered before even modest proficiency can be achieved. The very act of skating is unnatural, and a hockey player must combine the ability of a figure-skater with that of a speed-skater while maneuvering past large men bent on knocking him down. He must learn to handle a stick, manipulate a puck-pass it, receive it, and shoot with accuracy."
