FLOTILLA  ACCOMPLISHMENTS

THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME  ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF

 POMME DE TERRE FLOTILLA 54

 SINCE JANUARY 1, 2001 TO THE LAST UPDATE.

Conducted  137 Vessel Safety Checks awarding official Auxiliary Safety Decals to those boats meeting Federal Requirements.

WATER SAFETY PATROLS

Completed 55 Safety patrols totaling 117 hours

VHF RADIO STATION

.USCG RADIO POMME has performed 25 missions totaling 90 hours

PUBLIC EDUCATION

 In addition to one-on- one boat safety discussions during each Vessel Safety Check, members of the Flotilla have provided the following educational activity:

We gave seven lectures at the four Amphitheaters around Pomme de Terre.

A total of 223 were in attendance.

Conducted  "Boats N Kids"  class for  450 students at Weaubleau and Hermitage elementary schools covering on water safety and environmental programs. (Grades 1 through 5)

FEDERAL AID

Assisted Corps of Engineers in  surveying their Day Markers and Aid to Navigation Buoys around the lake . It took 66 hours to complete the job

PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Public Affairs activity consisted of a booth set-up at Hermitage, MO "Job Fair" put on by the Area Chamber of Commerce.

1 Coxswain ( Boat Operator )

3 Crewman ( Assistants to Operator ) - 4 more in training

3 Radio Watch standbys ( for fixed land facility USCG Radio Pomme )

2  Instructors (Boating Safety Classes )

7 Vessel Examiners ( Boat Safety Checks )

2 Dealer Visitors ( Visitation Program )
