 located in Springfield Missouri

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer, civilian, non-military arm of the U.S. Coast Guard.   Established by Congress in 1939, it serves the boating public by teaching boating safety classes, providing boat safety checks, and doing safety patrols on nearby lakes.  Auxiliarists also assist the regular Coast Guard in many additional ways.

Flotilla meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 1900 (7 PM) at 2235 W. Sunset, Springfield, MO.  Anyone interested in boating safety or joining the Auxiliary is welcome to attend.

We encourage every boat owner to have their boat safety checked every year.  You may schedule a vessel safety check by calling (417) 799-1402 during the day or (417) 833-3922 in the evening.  If your boat is on a trailer, you may bring it to 2235 W. Sunset, but please call first to make sure an examiner is available.  Or, you may e-mail us and we will contact you to schedule a time and a place.

If you live in the Lebanon, Missouri area, we are in the process of forming a Detachment in Lebanon.  For details about the new formation browse the Lebanon Detachment webpage. Contact Chase Waggoner the Officer in Charge of the Lebanon Detachment at  417-532-5924

For our young visitors, take a look at  Coastie the Safety Boat site for an educational experience on how to be safe around the water and boating safety, plus have some fun at the same time.
