"As a volunteer in the Remote Customer Assistance Office Project, you provided direct support to the Regional Examination Center main office in St. Louis.  Acting under the direction of the Chief of the Monitoring Unit, you identified all inactive Mariner files and separated them from the active Mariner application files.  This permitted these files to be placed into a separate filing system.  You organized copies of all fingerprints and identification material in the Monitoring Unit, which had been prepared for other Regional Examination Centers.  This permitted these files to be tracked in accordance with National Maritime Center guidance.  Undertaking an enormous endeavor, you alphabetized, organized, and boxed all files, which were determined to be historical in nature, for their transshipment to the Federal Records Center.  As an assistant to the Monitoring Unit evaluators, your actions were invaluable, particularly your interactions with Mariner applicants."
