"Responding
to emergent tasking requested by U.S. Coast Guard Sector Upper Mississippi
River, you professionally answered the short-fused call to action while
demonstrating superb aerial technical competence and remarkable
airmanship. When the Officer in Charge of CGC Sangamon required urgent
reconnaissance information concerning icing conditions on the Illinois
River, you responded by planning and executing a flight which involved
movement from your home base to Peoria, Illinois, where you embarked a
Coast Guard observer and then continued on to over-fly the Illinois River
from Peoria IL to Joliet, IL. The reconnaissance information gathered was
instrumental in assisting the CGC Sangamon’s planning and successful
mission accomplishment." |
