"The Team's high-spirited enthusiasm and commitment to safety greatly enhanced this special event by providing the nation's boating public with creative demonstrations of how to correctly fit and wear personal flotation devices.  Displaying exceptional planning and project management skill, the Team helped craft and distribute over 40 local news clips that reached over 1.2 million households in five key boating markets.  The team applied similar vigor in coordinating a national live televised segment that reached 1.8 million households nationwide with the Coast Guard's "You're in Command - Boat Responsibly" message.  As a direct result of its efforts, the team removed over 1,700 unserviceable and worn life jackets from public use, arranged an exchange program for the purchase of new personal flotation devices, and impressed upon countless boaters of all ages the value of proper life jacket wear."
