DSAR 2009

Participation Guidelines

1. There will be four teams consisting of four members funded to DSAR 2009 from 8WR.

2. The event is scheduled to be in the 8CR region, but the location is undetermined at this time.

3. As many teams as possible can put their names on the list by written request to the Commodore.  There will be a lottery system used for choosing the four funded teams. Additional teams may participate at their own expense. The deadline for submission of team names is November 1, 2008. The lottery drawing will take place November 12^th 2008 and the chosen teams will be notified by the Commodore. The teams will need a qualified coxswain who will be the designated captain and ALL team members MUST be fully qualified including ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 and not in REYR 60 days prior to the event.  It is advisable to have an alternate in case one team member has to drop out for some reason or another.

4. Once a team places their name in the list for DSAR, if they withdraw, they are disqualified for two years from entering DSAR again. If a team member resigns and the team is able to find another qualified member, than there will be no penalties.

5. The NSAR Team will be chosen from the participants of DSAR 2009, and although it is not a requirement to participate in DSAR, those that do not wish to be considered, are ineligible to be considered, or cannot commit the time need to include this information on their teams commitment letters.
