Here at Central Community
United Methodist Church our Mission is
“Making
Life Better with Christ at the Center”.
To
move along this spiritual path, we define the steps we will take as our
Vision.
We are a United Methodist Church centered in
Christ’s teaching providing love, hope
and abundant life through meaningful
prayer, worship, pastoral care, service
and outreach.
We strive to be open, friendly, welcoming and comforting to our members,
visitors
and all
others we come in contact with.
Our members are involved in prayer, worship, service to people,
outreach, fellowship,
evangelism and financial support.
----------------------------------We will:
------------------------------
Provide
a welcoming, comfortable, useful facility.
Maintain
a full-time ordained pastor.
Provide
meaningful worship opportunities through
1) At least two Sunday worship services (typically one
contemporary
and one traditional).
2) Sunday school opportunities for all age groups.
3) Uplifting music and programs.
Maintain
as needed and possible, a paid staff to support our facility and
programs (presently a full-time secretary, part-time
custodian, nursery
coordinator and organist).
Employ
evangelism methods which attract and maintain new members to Christ
and the Church.
Meet
the spiritual, social, intellectual, emotional and fellowship needs of
our
congregation and community by providing classes, small
groups,
programs, resources and entertainment as
appropriate.
Develop
the talents of our congregation by providing leadership and stewardship
opportunities and training.
Support
Central Community United Methodist Church and the United Methodist
Church by tithing and committing
our financial resources.
Provide
at least one weekly program for children and youth separate from our
Sunday services.
Support
our community, conference and the world, specifically by providing food
and clothing to the needy.
Be
prepared to initiate, modify or discontinue programs to meet the needs
of a
changing community and world as
God leads us.
We ask for God’s blessing
on our Vision.
